Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 2026 • Effective Immediately
SnapDisplay ("the Extension", "we", "our") is committed to total user privacy. We believe developer utilities and screen mirroring software must be private, local, and zero-telemetry.
1. 100% Local Processing (Zero Data Collection)
SnapDisplay operates entirely inside your local browser sandbox:
- WebUSB Direct Link: Communication between your computer and Android phone happens over a direct USB cable via WebUSB. No frames or data are transmitted outside your local machine.
- WebCodecs GPU Decoding: Video decoding happens in hardware on your local GPU (DirectX 11 / Metal / Vulkan).
- WiFi Virtual Display P2P: When extending your desktop to a secondary tablet, transmission occurs over local WebRTC peer-to-peer data channels across your local 5GHz WiFi. Zero internet bandwidth or external relay servers are utilized.
- Zero Telemetry: SnapDisplay does not include Google Analytics, Sentry, Mixpanel, or any tracking SDKs.
2. License Verification
If you upgrade to SnapDisplay Pro via Gumroad, the extension communicates exclusively with Gumroad's official API (https://api.gumroad.com/v2/licenses/verify) to validate your license key and enforce the 3-device commercial activation quota. No personal device identifiers, browsing history, or video telemetry are shared with Gumroad.
3. Permissions Disclosures
- storage: Used to save your local streaming preferences and Pro activation status locally in browser storage.
- desktopCapture & tabCapture: Used only when you explicitly trigger the WiFi Wireless Second Screen feature to capture the selected screen or window and send it directly to your paired tablet.
